Bar Convent Brooklyn 2023 – Jackie Williams

Bar Convent Brooklyn was back in Industry City for 2023. This years event was expanded to occupy more space. The booths and activations were bigger and even better. BCB is a party where business gets done. 4,500 industry professionals attended over 2 days. There were 198 brands represented and visitors came from 51 countries and 46 states. 475,000 spirit samples were enjoyed. Episode 122 – Iichiko Shochu – Tetsuro Miyazaki

This episode features Tetsuro Mayazaki of Iichiko Shochu.

Shochu is the original Japanese craft distilled spirit. It is more popular than sake and Japanese whisky. This delicious spirit is a newcomer to the American market. All of these years it has been unique to Japan and its restaurants. Iichiko Shochu is distilled from barley. In 1979 Iichiko was launched. Today it is the number one consumed shochu in Japan. After tasting these exceptional expressions we can fully understand why. We loved learning from Tetsuro about shochu and its origins.

In 2018 BCB was launched. In 2022 BCB celebrated it’s new Brooklyn home at Industry City.

Bar Convent Brooklyn took place on June 14th and 15th. Over 3,700 attended the event over a 2 day span. The event provided an amazing opportunity for the bartending and spirits industry to come together and network, see new products, and discover the latest trends. 136 booths offered something for everyone. Featuring… spirits, liquors, aperitifs, ready to drink cocktails, barware and mixers. The education offerings highlighted over 3 dozen classes that provided a wide variety of information.
